Try These New Year’s Resolutions to be Amazing in 2018

How many of us have been guilty of making New Year's Resolutions we don’t keep? I'm definitely guilty. But this year, I’m going to break the cycle and structure my time and schedule to help me reach the goals I set. Join me by designing some meaningful resolutions to grow in 2018. Let’s make it a point, together, to not only create ambitious goals, but also to reach them!

Health and fitness goals

When it comes to the gym, everybody’s always saying, “I’ll start tomorrow” or “next week”. Then, at our weaker moments, cheat meals become our regular meals-- ah, I totally get it!

For 2018, let’s take our health and fitness goals more seriously. You don’t need a personal trainer or even a gym membership for that matter. You can easily get active by following a You Tube workout video or doing a sport like tennis or rock climbing. Whether you’ve been talking about toning your legs or finally getting that cuter booty, you can make it happen in 2018!

Invest in yourself (inside and out)

Your New Year’s resolution can mean both inner and outer beauty. For the inner, maybe we want to be more mindful of our personal habits, like our sleeping patterns or how we speak to our friends, family or partner. For the outer, maybe it’s time to start a better skincare routine, like I did, to help make you feel more confident.

Empower your #worklife

As a working woman, the next goal is always in your reach. This year, let’s take that next step to be more successful by doing what we love.

As I mentioned in my interview with Livestrong, the most important thing you need to have in your career is confidence. Begin by believing in yourself and then just do it! You can start with small steps: design a new website, spice up your resume, go to a professional networking event— just activate!

Spread the love

From family love to romantic love, let’s make New Year's resolutions to improve it all.

Family

For the fam jam, we can work on staying more connected: visiting our parents, planning little getaways, having dinner together— you know.

I remember one year, Andrew and I got stuck at customs at the airport because we lost our passports (fail). It was stressful and chaotic, but oddly enough, it’s those random little experiences together than bring us closer.

On the other hand, if there’s been some down times in your family, you might consider making amends in 2018. After all, blood is forever.

Relationships

This year can also mean bringing more romantic love into your life. If you’re in a relationship, try to carve out more “us time” or even the opposite, work on respecting each other's “me” time— like being less naggy on football Sunday.

If you’re currently single, begin making positive changes for your love life. You can start a new activity to get back out there. Enrolling in a class, maybe yoga or photography, is a good starting point. You can also create a profile on a dating app. The power is yours!

Make your New Year’s resolutions meaningful. Let’s be amazing in 2018!
