Whether you’re 25 or 65, you want skin that looks brand-spanking new. Unfortunately, the catch is that anti-aging creams usually cost an arm and a leg-- and maybe a kidney. But the truth is that we don’t need to sacrifice our paycheck on this stuff. No joke--I know women with stunningly youthful skin for their age who’ve never bought an anti aging product in their life. We can achieve amazing results simply by using affordable anti-aging solutions at home. Sound too good to be true? It’s not! Here are cheap and natural anti-aging tricks that I swear by.
Coconut oil
Coconut oil is a life-saver ( or rather, skin-saver). Not only is it an excellent moisturizer, but it also has natural antibiotics that ward off acne. It’s cheap and natural, so you can’t go wrong with coconut oil for anti-aging. And best of all, you can cook with it for even more health benefits! You can refer to my chat with Dr.Axe where we discuss the reasons to include more coconut oil in your diet.
Rosehip oil
Prefer something less oily? If you’ve got oily skin, rosehip oil is a good alternative. It fights off free radicals, the bad molecules in the air that age our skin. High in vitamin A and fatty acids, it keeps your skin tone even and soft. Apply it under your eyes before bed.
Aloe vera gel
For very oily skin, I recommend using organic aloe vera. It has anti-inflammatory properties that soothe your skin and heal irritation or redness. Plus, it’s naturally hydrating, so for about $7 or so, you get a cheap anti-aging treatment that works amazingly!
Apple cider vinegar
Everyone raves about the health benefits of apple cider vinegar. Well, here’s what I have to say: it’s not all hype! Living up to its reputation, apple cider vinegar has a balancing pH that acts as a cleanser and detox for your skin. It also has gentle acids that exfoliate your face to brighten and smooth your complexion.
Make sure to dilute apple cider vinegar in water before applying it to your face; otherwise, it’s too harsh. Use a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar for every half cup of water.
Lemon
There’s nothing sour about lemons when it comes to cheap anti-aging remedies. Similar to apple cider vinegar, lemon helps your skin appear more youthful. Its natural acids exfoliate your skin, while its high vitamin C content works to minimize fine lines and prevent wrinkles.
For this treatment, just like apple cider vinegar, you should also dilute the lemon in water before applying it to your face.
Sunscreen
Finally, but most obviously, use sunscreen. It’s one of the most underrated solutions out there, likely because it seems very basic. But by using sunscreen with an SPF of 20 or higher, you’re protecting your skin from the most powerful reason for aging of all: the sun! For this reason, I consider sunscreen one of the top cheap anti-aging treatments. Give it a go!
